To the Greenway.......

I remember back when I first moved to Georgia, Roswell, to be exact. I would hear this guy talk about the Greenway. He said he'd go there a few times per week to be refreshed and clear his mind. After a while, I decided to check it out for myself. I walked it for a few miles every now and then, sometimes alone and sometimes with my kids. I eventually bought a bike, and road the Greenway 3 to 4 times a week, putting in 20+ miles each time. It was certainly therapeutic for my mind, body, and soul. I would run into the guy, once in a while, and I'd tell him about my experiences. I'd mention the different things seen or gathered at different mile markers and sections of the Greenway. My face would light up, while speaking of the strangers I'd meet and how nice and pleasant they'd be. There were deer, squirrels, rabbits, and even poisonous snake along the path. It seemed as though I learned something more and deeper, with each ride up and down the Greenway.

I began to notice the guy's facial expressions and responses, and how they did not look or sound to be of someone who had experienced the Greenway. I grew tired of conversing with him, every time our paths crossed. The conversations just seem to be one-sided. It's kind of like going to the pool with a good friend, but he can't swim. So, he stays on the three foot end, while you enjoy the twelve foot end with the diving board and slide. Anyway, I went to the Greenway, one Sunday, and noticed the guy in his car, in the parking lot near the Greenway. He seemed to have no intentions of getting out. As I passed him with my bike, he noticed me and turned his head to look away. I didn't bother speaking. At that point, I knew he had never really been down the Greenway and was oblivious to all I had ever spoken to him concerning my many trips.

The call of Christ, is not just a call to Salvation. It is also a call to a journey, that lasts your entire life, and beyond. To take this journey, is to accept that you know but an ounce of the 777 Quadrillion gallons that is your Creator. To accept the invitation to this journey is to get out of that car and put some steps; some miles on the Greenway. I feel that the way religion has hijacked, corrupted, and revamped the Church, has created massive parking lots where the multitudes sit stagnant, looking out the colorfully stained glass at versions and renditions of Yahweh, designed by the very religion or person the congregation follows.

I can't say exactly when my personal journey began, but I know that I have felt the presence and power of something much great than I, since an early age. In effort to "not belong to time", I will say this:

There is one Main Source of power that comes into your homes. Man places the Square D Load Center of Religion between the Main Source and all aspects and rooms of your house. He fills the Load Center with breakers of varying amperage, saying, "This room gets this. That room gets that." If too much power begins to flow to any one area, that breaker trips and shuts down the power to that room/aspect all together. Let's just say that the referenced "Power" is actually Knowledge (Insight) of Truth beyond religion and even beyond your Bibles.......
