In the Middle.......

Wraiths of weary warriors war within the recesses of my soul. Awaiting my decision, they are. Will I pick up their pallium, or will I remain somewhere in this middle where action is not to be found? My own little stubborn sandbar, splitting the spacious stream. I look to the western shore and see an enormous army of all those I hate and wish ill upon for all the evil they've inflicted on this world. I look to the Eastern shore, to which only a few have made it. My heart desires to be on the Eastern shore.

Knowing that my own little island will eventually erode away, my choice must be made today. Waters between the West and I are calm and shallow. Waters to the East are agitated and angry. Though I see others of lesser strength pulling themselves out of the river and onto the Eastern shore, I doubt and I fear. Why?? Why do I allow this?? Why do I hesitate, while fully aware of how far I've come and how much I've overcome thus far?
