The following is Lao Tzu's #16, in "Tao Te Ching:

"Attain complete emptiness,

Hold fast to stillness.

The ten thousand things** stir about;

I only watch for their going back.

Things grow and grow,

But each goes back to its root.

Going back to the root is stillness.

This means returning to what it.

Returning to what is

Means going back to the ordinary.

Understanding the ordinary:

Not understanding the ordinary:

Blindness creates evil.

Understanding the ordinary:

Mind opens.

Mind opening leads to compassion,

Compassion to nobility,

Nobility to heavenliness,

Heavenliness to Tao.

Tao endures.

Your body dies.

There is no danger."

{**“The "Ten Thousand Things" is a phrase found in Taoist and Buddhist writings, which refers to the material diversity of the universe, or better yet, the multitude of distractions all around us that contaminate our minds and muddle our lives.}

My initial thought this morning pertained to material things that plague the world, and that have, for some of us, gained more value than humanity and human life; more value than self worth. Literally, we are becoming material things, ourselves. We were not created as hollow potatoes with a box of interchangeable parts.

#16 just plays into the further thought I've given. The sad thing about us, is that we feel ordinary is something to be frowned upon. Your soul is ordinarily you, but the world tells you that you can only be successful and gain riches by being more than who you were created to be. Each and every one of us was born a Natural Beauty, plain and simple. Get back to that. Dive into your own soul. While there, find a mirror and reacquaint yourself with who you TRULY are. There, you will witness true greatness! Darn society! Rebuke what the lost and confused of the world say and think!! What is truly ugly, in my eye, is the corruption, contamination, and cartooning of Natural Beauty.

They say that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I agree not! YOU are beautiful, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!! ANATHEMATIZE the eye of the beholder! He/She knows Jack Poop compared to what you should know of your own self!! Who knows what absurdities are going on in his/her mind? That's not your responsibility. You have a responsibility to be true to you, love you, and know your worth, which dwarfs all Earthly treasures combined!

"But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.......

P.S. When you turn yourself into a "showpiece", folks turn up for a show, what's being advertised, the material you, and not your spirit; not your soul.......

Monday Morning Thought 11/08/21.......

"Knowledge about the self, though, threatens to lead some place unsettling...You cannot learn and accept something new about yourself without initiating change. Everybody wants progress but who wants

When stagnation speaks, we hear the following things: "I'm waiting for the rain to let up." "I'm waiting for a better car." "I don't have the money." "I can't afford the gym." "I don't have a degree."
