"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." -Philippians 4:6&7-
I'd think that by now, in my life, this scripture would be 1st nature to my heart when my spirit is in turmoil. Thinking back to the times when I've spent days, weeks, and even months in prayer over specific matters, and thinking about the peace that overcomes me when God answers, I should never find myself shaken by circumstances. Yet, guess what? I'm human; fully capable of making mistakes and falling short, and poor vision. The peace of which the above scripture speaks is life stilling. It's like standing in the eye of the hurricane, a.k.a. your life, and clearly seeing the answers you seek. I guess that's why it's called the "eye" of the storm.
In life, it's always hurricane season. Take heed to the scripture above. From time to time, we MUST step out of the storm and into the eye, for refreshment, for strengthening, for guidance, and for clarity. Through prayer and supplication, let your heart, your desires, your questions, your confusion, your sorrow, your anger, your pain, and even your hatred be known to God. For only HE can give you peace that surpasses all human understanding, plain and simple.
