"They" said that the Bible contradicts itself. I joined that bandwagon in high school, not because I believed such to be true, but because I was angry at my church for turning away my best friend due to his lack of denominational likeness to mine. Sometimes, those who are drawn into the Word are run off by denominational flea markets; "You don't want that weak god over there! I got that bomb god over here, and it only costs you.......!", or "That's not how you Christian! This is how you do it, and how God wants you to be!" I believe that denominations and religions are simply divisions in the church that the Word itself speaks against. It's just my opinion.
Anyway, context is what the Spirit of God brings to His Word. Accepting Christ gives you a direct plug-in to the Holy Spirit which pulses through you with every beat of God's heart. The Word will begin to unfold before your eyes and you will find yourself amazed at how it is and has been in full operation around you, every day, in all of your life. You will see that the Word is life itself, and there is nothing that you will ever experience, see or go through that has not already been dealt with in the history of mankind, found in your Bible. If I knew nothing of God, or of His Word, the Matrix would have simply been a great science fiction movie. Believe it or not, such a movie as this or as "i Robot" could not have been made without some knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Again, it's my opinion.
I pray that these ramblings ignite at least an inkling of interest in some of you; to see what this Word talk is all about. In the spirit of the Matrix:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5)." God spoke life into existence, early on, in Genesis. He spoke directly to mankind, often times via prophets and specifically chosen servants. He gave us laws, guidance and direction in speaking it to us. Yet, there was still much darkness in the world and many who turned away from Him.
The Word Reloaded:
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him (John 1:14-18)." God sent His Word to dwell among us, calling upon the lost and those who have strayed, and also to call those who know better into repentance of their chosen sinful ways of life. The Word, in the form of Jesus Christ, gave us a tangible example of the life we should live. He was proof that a godly life was possible and proof that God was real and truly does exist. The Way, He is for us, to this very day.
The Word Revolutions:
"I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, saying, 'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,' and, 'What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.' Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, 'Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.'" This final installment of the Word will be far greater than the final one of the Matrix series. The Book of Revelation is a MUST READ! It is the continued and concluding fulfillment of God's Word.
What I've shared in this post are barely fractions of a fraction of a ripple, in the ocean of God's Word.
There are many out there who love to argue against the Word and against God Himself, without any knowledge of that to which they stand in opposition. If I were your enemy and you wanted to gain victory over me, would you not take time to observe and study my ways, my habits, my routines, in hopes of finding a window of weakness to exploit? You may find weakness in me or my abilities, but you will never find such in God or His mighty Word. I invite you in, to get to know Him, whom I believe to be the greatest of all, the most amazing of all, and the God of all.
