So, Tupac was in my head this morning, saying, "Only God can judge me......." I said, "I agree with you Tupac and by the way, you never made a record I did not like, but let us consider the standard by which we are judged." It is highly offensive at times to be judged by the imperfect committers of the same sin by which they judge us, right? So, it is true that it is not man's place to judge another man. So, thinking to the standard by which God judges us, that standard is God Himself and our chosen relationship with or to Him. He created us in His image and likeness, remember? I hear God saying to my heart, "Bryan, I created you and all mankind in my image and likeness. Be like Me! Live like Me! Love like Me! Share like Me! Care like Me!" "Yes, Lord! I will, Lord. Though I will fall short at times, my heart is yours, God!"
Imagine God speaking directly to each and every heart under the sun, the words he spoke to mine. Now, imagine each and every one of those hearts, heeding His Word. What a wonderful world this would become. Like Friday being unable to do anything about your Thursday, I have no control over what any other man or woman does with his/her mind, words, or actions. I can only control what I do with mine. I remember when Tupac's song came out, back in the 90's, I would hear it said by so many. Many times, it was heard from one who was being criticized, sometimes harshly, for a chosen way of life or less than moral actions. The statement, "Only God can judge me", is SO true! Yet, again, where so many people fail is holding themselves accountable to the standard by which God does actually judge us, Himself! Okay, let's move this thought forward.
I thank God for today and the people who have touched me in it, by their living according to a standard, greater than human. Earlier, daughter #2 and I went to the bike shop, which is owned by a Starbucks regular, Jeff. The spirit in Jeff and in so many others in our area is great and makes living in Suwanee worth it! We get to the bike shop, thinking we'd just drop the bike off and come back to get it in a day or two, like the last time I had my bike serviced. The bike we took in today will be going to Michigan with T2 next week for a month, as a means of getting around the campus of Michigan State. Jeff took a look at it, and told us what's wrong with it. I was waiting for him to write up a ticket and tell me to come back Friday or Saturday, but he didn't. He went right to working on it. So we stood around having conversation, browsing the shop. After a while, he rolls the bike out and hands it off to me. I asked what I owed and he said, "Nothin. It's on me. As long as Taylor goes to Michigan and does her thing..." WOW! I thanked him and we moved on. God is GOOD!
We, then, dropped the bike off at home and headed to Starbucks. Of course, it's been a week or two since hanging out there. We arrived and were greeted with all smiles. One employee even came from around counter shook my hand and gave me a hug, asking how everything had been going. For some reason, my spirit needed exactly that. Man, this has been a great day, so far! I've had two calls that will hopefully lead to some real estate business, one being from "Super Sue", a colleague of mine who I had not spoken to in a while. It's always great to hear from her. She is another person with a heart of gold! The other call came form an old college buddy, "Kija (Kee-jay)" checking in on the fam and I. Come to find out, they have been unsuccessful at finding a house. So, needless to say, I shall be their Realtor! I am so grateful to have been touched, today, by individuals who live as though they will be judged one day according to the standard, God! Your relationship with God, or lack thereof, will determine so much along the path of your life. I want that "so much" to be nothing but good and blessings along mine! I pray that God blesses, immensely, all those who have blessed me today and in all my life!! Amen!!
Those who have ears, let them hear.......
