I'm compelled to give a shout out to EVERYONE who grew up in the Highpoint vicinity of Eight Mile, Alabama!!! If you fall into this category, then count yourself blessed to have been raised in such a community!! I am not sure what it's all like now but my assumption is that the love in Highpoint is still strong!!
From Pinewood to Park Pines, to Lott Road, to Brunswick & Amherst, to Golfway, Raintree, & Kings Mill, to Glenn Eagle, to Henry Road, to Jarrett Road & Bear Fork!! There was ALWAYS good stuff going on in Highpoint. Saturdays, at the park, for little league football and all the grillin and fellowship, were always fun. Sunday afternoons, around 3 or so, the basketball court was covered with players and surrounded by a bunch of "nexts"!! LOL!
Yeah, cats would get into fights every now and then, but we call those growing pains. Unlike today, we as kids, were able to resolve our issues without parent involvement or the police. Hand to hand is how it went down and ten minutes later, everybody was cool again. To this day, our parents are still oblivious to at least 99.9% of the issues we settled on our own. LOL! Ma, DON'T ASK!!!
I look at a lot of the activity still going on in Highpoint, and I see that many of you are still keeping it tight. It's much needed, to keep those roots strong. Keep it up. We all believe that there is purpose to everything, and I live it as truth and fact, that Highpoint was one of the best places on earth to grow up. There is a reason God set it all up the way He did. MUCH LOVE TO HIGHPOINT!!!
HAPPY SATURDAY Y'ALL!! I LOVE ALL OF YA!!
If you are from Highpoint, feel free to share on your pages!!
