Things that are meant to be, just are. They don't take a lot to maintain because that which is meant to be simply works out, according to plans greater than any that we can think up. Speaking of relationships, one should never feel as though he or she needs a break to catch his or her breath.......
Follow me on this one. Imagine that you are the North end of a magnet, and you have your heart set on a relationship that was never meant to be, with another North ended individual. You stretch and strain to reach each other. Once your hands are joined, you pull and pull and pull. You get close but never fully touch or connect, yet you feel the forced closeness is good enough. The whole time you are straining, you can't breathe fully. Little short breaths (like the ones suggested by Eddie Murphy to Danny Aiello in Harlem Nights) are all you can afford.
Over time, your grips grow weak and the hold breaks. You are able to do something you have been unable to do throughout the duration of that relationship. You BREATHE, easy and deep. You realize that what you were doing was never meant to be. In all the stress of putting ALL your energy and resources into the grip, you've been unable to fully live and enjoy the very things that ARE meant to be in your life, meant to have your attention, and meant to share your heart and love.
Now, imagine the connection between the North and South ends of magnets. It's natural and easy that they connect and hold to one another, effortlessly. Imagine a relationship that is bonded by a power greater than the individuals involved, a relationship where he & she, she & she, or he & he are able to simply LIVE, ENJOY, SHARE, and LOVE freely in EVERY aspect of their lives.
Any relationship where one feels he or she has to take a break, in order to catch a breath, needs examination, evaluation, and reevaluation, followed by straight forward HONESTY!
Love is all I have in my heart for ALL Y'ALL!!! Again, HAPPY TUESDAY!!
