I am sure we ALL have heard bits and pieces of the following stretch of scripture, at some point in our lives:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time for war and a time for peace."
- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 -
The portion that strikes me right now is "a time to be silent and a time to speak." In the world today, I feel we all talk way too much in general. Freedom of speech has gotten way out of hand. Everybody is so bent on being heard, that NO ONE is listening. If no one is listening, then no one is learning! This is why the world is full of so many incapable adults. Minds are closed, intelligence is lacking, and common sense ain't common at all!! There are just times in our lives when we just have to shut the reverse diarrhea down! LOL!
There have been times when I've felt that I must be heard with words boiling in my heart and burning on the tip of my tongue, but chose to drink some ice water, calm my nerves and simply think.......are my words necessary at THIS point? Will my words help are hurt the situation? What is my part in this madness? Am I at fault? What can I learn from this? What wisdom can I apply? What am I to do with this Lord??
So much of hell is unleashed on earth because we can't seem to control our tongues as best we can. There is a scripture that I have loved since I first read in August of 1998: "Whoever guards his mouth and tongue, keeps his soul from trouble." (Proverbs 21:23). It is also said that the power of life and death lies in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
If your words are sweet, kind, loving, and beneficial, let them flow. If they are not, you may want to have that glass of ice water and ponder a bit, how to handle your feelings and emotions. There are ways of delivering harsh truth in ways that are not detrimental to the situations. We ALL have spoken words that hurt, in the heat of the moment, that we later regret and wish we had never thought of in the first place. So, why not learn the seasons and operate accordingly.
That's all for now.......
HAPPY SATURDAY NIGHT!! I LOVE ALL Y'ALL!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
My mind is in several different places today, scattered all over. Whatever you believe in, believe in it with all your heart, that's if it is what you truly believe. I feel that sometimes we take on "convenience beliefs" just to remain unaccountable for what we know to be true or right. We've all been guilty at some point. When you take on a belief, then ride or die with it! My belief is that Jesus Christ IS the Son of God, Creator of the universe and all life on this planet. YES!! I ride or die with this belief! I believe that God DID send His only begotten Son to die for my sins, and that whoever should believe in Him will have eternal life! YES!! I ride AND die with this belief! Now, don't go flipping and freaking out on me. These are just MY beliefs. You have yours, and I'm still your friend, right? As we hear, echoed throughout the movie, Raising Arizona, "OKAY THEN!" I promise I won't show up on your front porch this Saturday with publications from a high place.......
I think we, often, get so wrapped up in making every darn thing so personal, that we are ruled by our opinions and emotions and think that everybody is talking about US, or judging US, or condemning US when they are simply standing up for what they believe in. Such selfishness can also be known as paranoia, which will drive anyone insane. There is no such thing as the "devil made me do it." All the devil has the power to do is tempt. The doing is ultimately up to us. Choosing between right and wrong is on US! The devil don't steal from folks either! Again, he tempts folks into forfeiting what they have for things we think we want, but never quite seem to get. Discernment is key! Don't be Willy Lump Lump or Boo Boo the Fool, lost in a pipe dream! KNOW what's real and what ain't!! Within our minds is where the REAL battle between good and evil takes place.
There is only ONE God's Will! There are no versions 1.0, 2.0, or 5.3!! The fact that man made things have so many versions shows how imperfect we are and how we always think we can do and be better. God's Will does NOT change, no matter what you do, say, think, or feel. His Will DOES come to pass, so suck it up, deal with it, and be ready when He calls! You WILL do as He Wills it!! LOL! Just consider yourself a soldier in His army, awaiting orders and deployment. God IS perfection!!
Okay, Y'all have an AWESOME Thursday!! I love all of ya, no matter how different our beliefs may be. Friends are friends FOREVER!! HAPPY THURSDAY!!
