You know how people complete jigsaw puzzles and have them framed?? Then, they hang them on walls as works of art? Well, our lives are similar. We are all works of art, but we have to be able to bring ONLY the right and fitting pieces into our lives. Think about it. When we allow things into our lives that don't belong, we lose that "work of art" look, that "work of art" smile, and that "work of art" feel. We can't walk among others as great people, when our puzzles pieces are in constant conflict with the ones that don't belong. In terms of finding ONLY the right and fitting pieces, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." -Matthew 6:33- When we choose to seek only for ourselves, we are like Vanity Smurf walking around all day everyday looking into a mirror, never mindful of that or those upon which we trample, never mindful of the true needs of those closest to us, and never mindful of a path that God would rather we tread. Even if that mirror should break, we ask God for His healing powers to fix the mirror itself, rather than ask Him to heal the one in the mirror.............Yeah, my mind is moving swiftly today in terms of making sense, trying to pass along some sense, and attempting to eliminate any excuses we try to throw up when things aren't necessarily going our ways...........God is our ONE TRUE SOURCE of ALL the things we need most, and often times, we find these things in our giving of them. We are here to help, serve, love, care for, and provide for each other! From the time man was created, his life was not about him!! It was about stewardship and taking care of all God's creation!! "Am I my brothers keeper??" YES THE HELL YOU ARE!! Okay, I think I am done for the moment. I love you all!! Have an awesomely blessed day!! GOD IS AMAZING!! Try Him out, if you haven't already!! AMEN!!!
What most politicians have in common with drug dealers, and the like, is that God is not welcomed into the daily affairs of their lives, EXCEPT maybe on Sundays when they provide our God with hella lip service. This reminds me of Isaiah 29:13, "The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men."
We, as the people, get the same treatment. We have all of their words, yet none of their hearts. I am not dogging ALL politicians, but I am dogging the majority. If the shoe fits, wear it!! Wear it proudly!! Be honest about who you are. If the truly good-hearted politicians were the majority, our country would be in MUCH better shape, financially, ethically, physically, and most importantly, SPIRITUALLY!!
When God is cut out, ALL hell breaks loose and runs rampant among us, the innocent and guilty alike. The corruption of government kills an entire nation ("Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people." -Proverbs 14:34-). We call ourselves a super power amongst the nations of the world, yet we can't ever seem to resolve our own civil, internal, racial, ethnic, ethical, financial, and social issues. We are nation, divided in multiple ways. Our country is sick. It is bruised. America is falling apart. Only God has the power to save it. Obama can't do it! The democrats can't do it!! The Republicans can't do it!! ONLY GOD CAN HEAL OUR LAND!!!
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." -2Chronicles 7:14-
Thought Of Today: "I'M ALRIGHT!" As long as I am alive, and as long as I have the love and support of God, my wife, my kids, my family, and my friends, there is nothing wrong with me! I'm alright!!
Be blessed, this day, my family and friends! God's got us covered, so let's live the lives of love that we are called to lead.
Humility can be written about millions of times and we will still find more to say about it as time passes. It's not something that you can just "get" and be done with it. It's an ever-growing process, just as our spiritual growth in God. You can't just "get" God and go on. Humility helps to accept the fact we will all go to our graves without having FULL knowledge of God. Humility is what enables us to forgive and cancel the debts of those who have hurt us, betrayed us, and let us down. Humility is what enables us to say, "Yesterday, you slapped the taste out of my mouth, and yes, the taste was gone. Today, you need bread. Here's a loaf. Take it home to your family."
Today, I was bitten hard, when an individual decided to spit on my humility. It burned me so bad, I wanted to react out of anger, but I took my time to calm down and remember "sticks and stones, Bryan, sticks and stones." We all used to say that, as kids, with a little added neck work, never knowing that such was a practice of humility. I say it often as an adult in order to keep a smile on my face as the spit of the ungrateful trickles down my cheek.
Humility is what helps us to say, "Forgive them Lord. They know not what they do."
The other day, we talked a little about our bags of choices that we carry with us every day. Have you ever known an individual who always wears a frown, who talks more about their issues, their problems, their struggles than they do about anything else? They always seem to be the victim. Have you ever known this person? Who can't seem to find the sun at twelve noon on a sunny day??
Misery is a choice people! True, there are some circumstances we have no control over, BUT we always have control over how we carry ourselves in EVERY situation. If you have a good husband or a good wife, then there is joy to be found in your day! If you have children that love and adore you, then there is joy to be found in your life. If you have good friends, then there is joy to be found when needed!! The fact that God is God SHOULD be enough for all of us to always have a good thought to go to in times of trouble, trial, and tribulation. There is so much good to me found in each day, but we have to CHOOSE to see it, to seek it, to find it.
Thomas Jefferson once said, "Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude." I simply agree..........
