Early in the morning, before the night drops its drawers, revealing the crack of dawn, many of us wake. We rise and begin our preparations for the coming day. Physically, mentally, and for some of us, spiritually, we ready our beings for the expectations of yet another day. As we do so, let us remember to seek first the Kingdom of God and that His Will be revealed and done, in us and about us. Remember that today is your day, full of opportunity. Worry not about tomorrow. For tomorrow has trouble of its own. Remember, as you go about your day, to humble yourself. Before judging those you see, consider your own shortcomings, failures, specks and planks. Remember how God turned you around, forgave you, gave you grace, and showed you mercy.
Leave the house with Love on your mind and in your heart. With Love in mind, remember that Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails. Never forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Never boast about tomorrow. For you do not know what a day may bring. Focus on now, what you can do now, the awesome you can be now, and every second of now, today! Prepare for today, as though it’s your last. Never be caught slipping or sleeping. We never know when the Lord will come. Therefore, grasp this. If you knew the day and time the thief was coming to rob your house, would you not keep watch and be ready to defend your home, your property, your family? As the wise “Suga Free” once told the world, “If you stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready!”
Ask yourself, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Am I trying to please people?” If you are still trying to please people, you cannot be a servant of Christ. Choose you this day, whom you will serve. At the dropping of night’s drawers, and before the Sun lays His full gaze upon the land, be ready to live! Be ready to love! Be ready to fight for your life and for what’s right! Your soul is appealing to both, angels and demons. It attracts both love and hate! It’s up to you, who you allow in as a guest, a boarder, or permanent resident. When the dogs of good and evil show up in your yard, which will you feed? Which will you pop with the b.b. gun?
Marinate on these ramblings and prayerfully consider the starts to each of your remaining days. What’s of true value to your soul, your spirit, your heart, your family, you future? Today determines your tomorrow.
Those who have ears, let them hear…….
P.S. Let Scripture be written on your hearts and found in your daily conversations. Allow it to become a way of life.
