Last night's dream was quite disturbing and I didn't think I'd share, but I will.......
The sun hangs at the center of the universe, just as God dwells at the center of our hearts. Dark clouds of all sorts like to come along and obstruct our view of our God, in His dwelling place. Clouds of loss, anger, mistreatment, and all kinds of evil and injustice attempt to distract and distort our sight and views. Many times, we find ourselves more focused on the clouds than the tiny slither of light, of hope, that is there to show and remind that God is STILL there, and He has NOT moved away from us.
That slither is that gap, that hole, that the Bama offensive line creates for cats like Yeldon and Henry to pass through, on the way to touchdowns and 1st downs. We have to be able to shoot these gaps through the darkest of clouds to see that God is there and is still in control, and STILL has our best interest at heart. Think about the sun again. It goes nowhere! WE are the ones, on this earth, moving and turning while revolving around the Light of the universe. Even in the darkest moments of night, the sun still shines. For we see its light bouncing off of the moon.
HAPPY FRIDAY Y'ALL!! I LOVE YOU ALL!! BE SAFE!! HAVE AWESOME WEEKENDS!!
I was 17 when I was done with the world and the whole going to church to get into Heaven thing. I still attended mass, but it was simply out of routine. After what I felt was betrayal by the Catholic Church, my philosophy was this: "Yes, God created man. Man screwed up. God left man alone to kill himself off. The world is just way too destructive for there to ever be God involved. He has left mankind alone to self-destruct." Yeah, this is how I felt.
This morning, while dealing with some overwhelming thoughts, I had a bit of a talk with God. He reminded me of the above time in my life. It was kinda like Scrooge's experience with the ghost of Christmas past. He reminded me of how I carried my jacked up belief to Xavier with me. Then, He brings to my recollection how He would often find me late nights, sitting on the steps of the Admin building, speaking out to Him. "With all the mess you were talking and boasitng, what was THAT all about?" He asked. God walked me even further back to December 1, 1990 and said to me, "Blood sugar 996! Enough said!" Then, we jumped forward, to where He asked, "You remember what I said to you back in December 1997 when you TRIED to end your own life? REALLY DUDE??"
We went through a few more areas of my past, and I see that in all my trials, all my wantings to give up, and in every moment of overwhelming STUFF, God has ALWAYS been there. At the bottom of the bruises, and just beyond the depths of the scars, He's been there, just waiting for me to recognize. I now understand that there is only one way to deal with pain, struggle, heartache, and tribulation. That way is to simply go through it! GOD IS THERE. HE ALWAYS HAS BEEN!! HE ALWAYS WILL BE!!
An Angel often says to me, "You could have been a totally different person, after all you've been through." As I stated in my last post, who we are is by choice. It's not the trial or tribulation that defines you. Your definition is in your response.
HAPPY TUESDAY NIGHT Y'ALL!! I LOVE YOU ALL, EACH AND EVERY ONE!!
I see stereotypes as records and those that abide in/by them, as record players. This thought comes to mind, as I ponder the recent wave of police brutality, excessive force, etc, that has been rampantly running the roads of American society. I think about all the issues we face in this society, be it American or be it world society, and regardless to what the news tells you, we suffer from people problems. Stereotyping is a people action. It's not natural! It's not spiritual! It's people that do this, and because it has always been acceptable by large numbers of us, it has become the norm. We all have records and we all play them.
As I stated before, these are PEOPLE PROBLEMS from which we suffer. Think about it! All ill that has befallen mankind has stemmed from the misguided thoughts of individuals, PEOPLE! Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Classism, Separatism, and every other ill "ISM" are PEOPLE problems.
We, THE PEOPLE, choose right, or we choose wrong! We, THE PEOPLE, are either wise, or we are fools! We, THE PEOPLE, are either good, or we are evil. From the time I wake in the morning, to the time I crash at night, ALL that I do in a day is by choice!! No one is born racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. Even though some of us have been raised as such, it's STILL a choice at some point to continue down paths of ignorance and stupidity or choose BETTER for ourselves and for our lives and for our children!
Every woman is a rib, belonging to the cage of the man God has chosen for her. In this day and age, we tend to be impatient. Ribs just wanna be on any man's plate, and men just want ribs, period. What happens is that over time, these ribs are bitten, gnawed at and chewed on, only to be spat out and discarded, kinda like the lukewarm folks in Revelations. Such is only natural when things are found to be out of place and not meant to be. I've been guilty in my past of having ribs I knew belonged not on my plate. They taste so good, only for a moment. Then, we toss them and look for another "taste".
